Maybe it's that nutty spelling phenomenon that has people pronouncing names all crazy too. Take my sister's name, it's Zoe. People always want to pronounce it Zoey. It's spelled like Toe with a Z, you say it the same...you don't say TOEY. Same with Tara, it's like Sara with a T, but I always get Tar-ah. it's the strangest thing.
Lets blame it on the water...it's turned into crazy juice and has 'em all hooked on phonics.

Trust me I feel your pain on the name thing.
Covering all those high school basketball players and softball players, it gets crazy trying to remember which one is Meagan and which is Meghan. And that's just two examples of ways to spell it. There are plenty more. Katelyn and Ashlee are a few more examples of names that have gone bonkers around here.
The guys are almost as bad. Try Dwaine, Dwayne, Zach and Zack, Jonathan, Johnathon, Bret and Brett, etc, etc.
The list just goes on and on and on.

I'm convinced the weird spelling of names has more to do with spellcheck than anything. You're in the hospital, all tired and happy because your pretty newborn has arrived all healthy and such. Then they stick this clipboard in front of you and ask you to fill it out. Of courase, you have to hand write it, you know with a pen, so there is no spellchecker. And it needs to be done RIGHT NOW.

And you're screwed.

And poor Maddyson is hosed for life.

I don't care what anyone says, Equal doesn't taste as good as Sweet & Low, and sugar beats 'em all.

I started using Jaxn as an alternate spelling while I was in high school. I gave all 4 of my sons Jaxn as a middle name. For me it has something to do with identifying an otherwise common lineage.

Still, it is a little weird.
